Fillet of blue shark with a fruit salad
Salute!
First of all don't be scared by the title.I know you are thinking :" WTF Shark??????"
The blue shark is not very known for being edible in all countries. In Greece it is considered a low quality fish which is difficult to cook.Well since the Greeks tend to overcook a lot of meat and fish, or they literally boil the fish to mush I saw a challenge in this.I have now 5 frozen fillets in my freezer.
You need :
1 blue shark fillet (if frozen, thaw it )
5 tablespoons soy oil
1/2 lemon (juiced)
1 teaspoon of freshly chopped dill
pepper,salt,curry powder
For the salad :
Grapes (cut in half)
peach (diced)
1/2 grapefruit (cut into fillets)
2 carrot grated
a pinch of chilli powder
a pinch of chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon honey
Rub your shark fillet with curry powder and pepper. In a frying pan let the soy oil get very hot.Fry the shark fillet 2-3 min from each side and add salt.
When you are done, remove the pan from the fire and let the shark rest.
Put it on a plate and pour the lemon juice over it and add the dill.
The salad is easy : Mix all ingredients in a bowl and let it sit for 10-20 min,so the flavors can develop.
Overcooking this fillet is very easy, but cooking it properly is even easier!
So to the dear Greek people that were classifying this delicious blue shark as inedible : Of course it becomes inedible if you fry it for 15 min or bake it in the oven for 30 min!
