Green Tea facial mask/scrub


This facial mask and scrub will change your skin completely.
I have large pores around my nose and when it is hot in summer I tend to break out and get oily skin there.
This scrub has a lot of good stuff in it and it is really worth it to make it.
It really made my skin change and I don't need that much of foundation anymore.

You need:
2 tablespoons Olive oil
1 tablespoon organic honey
2 tablespoons organic sugar
1-2 drops apple cider vinegar
1 drop lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon organic green tea leaves
a pinch ground coffee
1 teaspoon organic oat flour
(Optional vitamin E-pearls )

 Clean container

Mix all the wet ingredients first,then add the dry and mix until combined.

Apply the mask on a clean face let it 'do it's work' for 20 min and now you can star scrubbing in circular soft motions.Don't apply around the eyes.Don't use this mask if you have sensitive skin or allergies
Wash off and enjoy your smooth skin.
I use this every other day and it took me 2 weeks to see how great my skin improved.Store in the fridge for 1 week.

Super Mario Mushroom Nail Design

Hi folks!

It is nail art time again !
For every gamer-goth-girl this must be the ultimate stage of kawaii-ness.
Even your boyfriend will be showing off your manicure to his friends,because the majority of boyfriends love Super Mario.

Super Mario and I had a very troubled relationship.I had a Nintendo console,but only one Game......So I played Super Mario for a looong time.

You need
Red polish
white polish
black polish
base coat/top coat
nail art dotting tool (A pencil tip will also be just fine)
a toothpick

Apply a base coat,allow to dry and draw a french tip with white polish on your nails.The tip can be a bit bigger than usual.
Now let's draw the mushroom cap.You can use a nail art brush,but I was too lazy.Just draw the outlines and bring the red down a bit on both sides of the french tip
Allow to dry completely.
Now take a piece of paper and place a small drop of black polish on there.Pick it up with a toothpick and draw two thin lines that will be the eyes of the mushroom.
On the same paper place a drop of white polish and pick some up with the dotting tool.Place dots all over the mushrooms cap.

Allow to dry,apply top coat.


Korres Lip Butter Stick review


You got(h)a have this wonderful lip butter stick!

Korres is a Greek cosmetics brand that has wonderful natural products that can be found at Sephora or the Korres shop ( http://www.korres.com ).
The Lip butter is instantly hydrating and has a SPF 15,it comes in different colors and even colorless with no SPF.

So I had super chapped lips and I went to the pharmacy.
The friendly pharmacist told me to go for Korres.
Korres it is!

I chose the color mandarin which is a nude pink.The lip butter stick has a nice tint of peach color and a little tiny bit of shimmer,so don't expect a lot of color on your lips.I did not try the darker colors though.

The smell is quite pleasant because it is not too strong.It kind of smells like Shea Butter.

The packaging is quite cute.A pink and white container with nice and sharp letters.
It says :"Lip butter with sun protection that instantly hydrates and softens the lips.Shea Butter and Sunflower wax deeply nourish and offer long-lasting care,while Mandarin oil conditions dry lips.Ideal for chapped lips.

Korres Lip Butter Stick is :

Now the real review!
Like I said I had really chapped lips and I applied the lip butter.It immediately soothed my burning lips and it really moisturized them.The product lasts quite long and it doesn't get sticky after one hour of wearing it.
I applied it three times a day and after 24 hours my lips were back to normal.
Since that day I apply it 2 times a day to keep my lips soft and kissable :)

If you wear it under lipstick you might want to apply it 5-10 minutes before applying the lipstick.Otherwise your lipstick will not stick to your lips as well.
The fact I love most is,that you can also use it on flaky skin before applying your foundation.
The skin around my nose is really dry and it tends to flake.We all know that there is nothing worse than flaky skin+foundation+powder....it looks baaad,especially when wearing Goth-white foundation.

Result :

I am more than happy with this Lip butter.It is natural,has a light feeling,moisturizes the lips in an awesome way and most importantly it doesn't become sticky after a few hours.The lip butter stick will last you quite a while,if you use it 2-3 times a day.So it is a good value for the money.

I will buy another one of these soon.I might try the purple colored one.

Spinach Potato Croquettes ( This screams for leftovers!!)


I don't like to throw away food.I love my food because I worked for it and I payed for the ingredients!
So in this recipe I will show you how you can use the spinach puree leftovers from the recipe below , and you can use those old cornflakes sitting in your pantry!
So put on that apron and let's get started!

You need:
Spinach Puree/Mash Leftovers
Old cornflakes /Breadcrumbs
vegan yogurt or cream cheese
Oil and a deep pan to fry

(For non veggies,you can also put Feta Cheese in the mash!!!!)

Okay in a food processor crush the corn flakes  and season them with pepper and salt.
In a bowl mix the puree with 1 teaspoon of vegan yogurt or cream cheese.
Add about a hand full of breadcrumbs to the mash and season if needed.
With wet (!!) hands take a small portion of mash and shape it into a croquette shape or little balls.
Now in a small bowl take 1/4 cup water and add one tablespoon of creamcheese or yogurt to it and mix well until the two components are blended together well.
Let your little croquettes take a bath in the water-yogurt mix and roll them in breadcrumbs right after.

Now let some oil get hot in a deep pan.Soy oil is just fine!
Fry your little croquettes until golden brown.

This recipe can be done with so many different boiled veggies and mash.I did it with carrots,broccoli,peas and turnips.
I served it with a dip made of vegan yogurt,chives pepper and salt.
And of course fresh Greek  tomatoes


Vegetarian Spinach Puree /mash


I love every kind of puree or mash and there are soooo many different things you can do.
This spinach potato mash is yummy,healthy and 100 % vegetarian.

You need
400 gr Potatoes (peeled,diced)
300 gr spinach (I used frozen baby spinach)
1 spring onion (sliced)
1 clove of garlic (crushed)
3 tablespoons vegan cream cheese
1 tablespoon margarine
pepper,salt,ground nutmeg

Boil your potato dice until they are soft and drain them.In a separate pan you boil the spinach,the garlic and the spring onion for about 7 min.Drain the spinach and add it to the potatoes.Add the cream cheese,the margarine and season well with pepper salt and nutmeg.With a masher start mashing well.You can also use a whisk to mash the puree.

Serve with fresh tomatoes !

Easy crab pasta

Konichiwa !

This is a very tasteful dish for summer days with fresh veg,crab meat (or crab imitation *lol*) zesty lime flavor and a creamy cream cheese flavor.

You need :
200-400 gr Crab meat or if you wanna save some money take crab imitation.(diced)
1 spring onion (sliced)
1 clove of garlic (crushed)
1 tomato (without seeds,diced)
1 bell pepper (sliced/julienne)
2 handful baby spinach
the juice of one lime
3 tablespoons dry white wine
5-6 pickled jalapeno slices (diced)
3 tablespoons cream cheese
2 tablespoons roughly chopped basil
1 tablespoon roughly chopped parsley

olive oil,pepper,salt,pasta of your choice

In a large saucepan heat 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil and start sauteing the spring onion,the bell pepper,the spinach and the jalapenos for 3 minutes and add the crab meat.Deglaze with lime juice and wine.Add the rest of the ingredients and season well.

Boil your pasta according to the instructions on the package and serve!


This took me like 20 minutes.



Natural insect repellent

Bssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss Bssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss mosquito time!

There is an easy solution!

You need :
100 gr Pelargonium Graveolens leaves (the lemon scented ones)
2 teabags lemongrass
200 ml water
2 cl rubbing alcohol
Spray bottle

Bring the water and the Pelargonium leaves to a boil and add the teabags.
Remove from the fire and let it steep for 10 min and allow it to cool.
Add the rubbing alcohol and fill your all natural insect repellent in a spray bottle.
Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Gourmet Jello shots with Tequila


Everybody loves Jello shots.Well the idea is great but I always thought there is more potential in a jello shot.So I thought of making a Jello Cocktail.

You need
2 pck of Jello (any flavor will do,you can also use 2 flavors)
Water as required on your jello package instructions,only that you have to take 1/2 the water,cuz it will be replaced by cool whip and Tequila
1 cup white Tequila (chilled)
1 cup cool whip
plastic cups,plastic spoons

Ok prepare your Jellos according to the instructions on the package with only half the water and let it cool down to room temperature.Split the Jello into two bowls.
In one bowl you are going to whisk in the tequila and in the other bowl you will mix in the cool whip and whisk well.
First fill the Jello Tequila Mix in the plastic cup and then add the cool whip mix on top.
Chill for 3-4 hours and let the party begin.
Especially for women-parties these Jello Cocktails are perfect.



Octopus Salad


In Greece Octopus is a famous ingredient prepared in so many different ways:Boiled,barbecued,with pasta and even baked in the oven.You can take canned Octopus for this recipe,because cleaning the little bugger is a pain in the butt.The salad is a quick meal for a hot summer day!

You need :
Salad of your choice (I chose mixed Salad rdy 2 eat)
1 slice of fresh pineapple (diced)
1 carrot (grated)
1 small cucumber (cut into thin slices with a veggie peeler)
1 small red bell pepper (diced)
1 spring onion (sliced)
1 can of octopus
-any veg you love in salads

For the dressing
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
the juice of a half lemon
1 tablespoon yogurt (I chose Greek low fat)
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 garlic clove (I took 1/3)crushed
1/2 teaspoon chopped dill
1 teaspoon mayonnaise

Combine all the sauce ingredients and whisk well.Drain the juices from the canned octopus.
Mix all the veg/salad well and dress with the dressing.
The Pineapple compliments the octopus very well.

Nussecken (German )


Yay!! This is my 100th post

I saved the Nussecken recipe for this special occasion.This is my favorite sweet treat from Germany.
Nussecken means Nut-corners.

For the base:
300 gr all purpose flour
160 gr butter
1 teaspoon baking powder
150 gr sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt

Knead a dough from the above ingredients and chill the dough for 30 min.

For the topping:
2 egg whites (beaten to stiff peak)
200 gr butter
200 gr sugar
4 tablespoons water
400 gr ground hazelnuts or almonds
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 tablespoons apricot jam

400 gr chocolate of your choice

Spread the dough for the base on a large baking tray with a rolling pin or your hands.
Cover the whole base thinly with apricot jam.
In a saucepan melt the butter,sugar,vanilla extract and water and bring to a boil.Mix the ground nuts in and remove from the fire.
Now fold in the egg whites carefully and spread the nutty mixture on the base.

Bake on medium high temp (175 Celsius ) for 25-30 min.Now cut your treat into little triangles quickly while it is still hot.A pizza cutter works perfectly.

Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie or in the microwave and dip your triangles into the chocolate so that all 3 sides are covered in chocolate.

Instead of the apricot jam you can also use marzipan and spread it all over the base.

Gnocchi with a creamy sauce of asparagus and spinach


This dish is one of my favorites of all time.I love asparagus very much and if I could find it more often,I would probably eat it every day.

You need
2 portions of fresh Gnocchi di patate (boiled)
1 spring onion (sliced)
5 asparagus "sticks" *lol* (peeled and cut into chunks)
a good hand full of baby spinach
5 strips of smoked bacon (chop it up)
1 carrot (diced)
the juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tablespoon cream cheese
100-150 ml cream
pepper salt,olive oil

Put the asparagus chunks and the carrot dice in a saucepan and cover them with water.Add the lime juice,bring to a boil and simmer for 12-15 min.Drain.
In another saucepan saute the bacon and the spring onion in some olive oil until the bacon has some light golden color.Add the spinach,the asparagus and carrots and saute again.Add the cream cheese,the cream and some olive oil and season well.

Mix with the boiled Gnocchi.



Corset Nails


This nail design is very quick and easy.The only difficulty is the laces of the corset.

You need:
Nude colored nail polish
black polish
dark green (or any other dark color )
base coat, top coat
thin nail art brush
toothpick/dotting tool

Apply your basecoat and let it dry.Now polish your nail with 1 coat of your nude color.Paint two stripes with black on the outsides of the nail.Take your toothpick or dotting tool and pick up some of the nude color and place 4 dots on the black stripe.Make sure the dots are even.
Allow to dry for 20 min.
Now take your thin nail art brush and lace up the corset with the dark green color.
Apply a top coat and let dry.

Done :)


A cool desert for hot days


Summer is coming and it is coming fast!
So I thought it was the right time to post my summer favorite.A cool desert that requires no baking.The recipe might sound a bit complicated,but believe me it isn't.

You need
2 pck  jelly in mango/pineapple flavor (any exotic fruit flavor will do)
My jelly requires 500 ml of water but not all instant jellys are the same..Make sure you take half of the water and passion fruit juice required for the preparation of your instant jelly.
1 pck  jelly in lemon flavor
350 ml whipped topping ( I used cool whip)
250 ml of water
250 ml passion fruit juice
300 gr sliced almonds (very lightly toasted in a dry pan)
50 gr + 50 gr sugar
1-2 bananas

In a small saucepan heat 250 ml of water and dissolve the two packages mango/pineapple jelly.Do not bring to a boil.Add 50 gr of sugar.Stir for 2 min and let the jelly mix cool a bit.Put your whipped topping in a large bowl and slowly add the mango/pineapple jelly mix gradually while constantly stirring.
In a flat large bowl /dish spread 2/3 of the lightly toasted almonds on the bottom.Now add the mango/pineapple flavored whipped topping on top of the almonds.
Chill for 20 min.

In a saucepan heat the passion fruit juice and dissolve 50 gr sugar.Add the lemon flavored jelly powder and stir for 2 min.
Let the jelly cool until it reaches room temperature.
Slice your banana (s) into thin slices.Depending on the size of your flat bowl you may need more or less.Now neatly spread the bananas from the outside to the inside,but make sure to be quick otherwise your bananas will go brown.
Spread the passion fruit-lemon jelly mix over the bananas.

Sprinkle with the rest of the almonds and chill for 3-4 hours.Make sure you put some cling film over your cute little desert!

Pineapple Banana Pancake


Those of you who count calories should stop reading now!
This is for those of you who love to spoil they palate.

You need:
100 gr Yogurt
1 banana (dice half of the banana,keep the other half whole)
1 slice of fresh pineapple (diced)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1/2 cup of flour
3 tablespoons of cornstarch
a pinch of salt
margarine to fry
ice cream of your choice (I used Pina Colada ice cream)
Nutella or chocolate syrup

Ok let the feast begin.
Combine Yogurt,flour,egg,cornstarch,vanilla extract,sugar,salt and the half un-diced banana in a blender until smooth.
Add the banana and pineapple dice and place the pancake dough in the fridge for 20 min.
Bake/fry your pancakes with margarine in a non stick pan and serve with ice-cream and nutella.


Greek Bifteki with an Italian twist


Applebees has this nice burger with basil pesto,tomato and ciabatta bread.Well I love this burger to death,but I am not a big fan of eating bread with a regular meal.It is not that I avoid carbs,but I prefer to eat more veggies or salad with my meal.And bread makes me feel full easy.

For 5 Bifteki you need:
500 gr minced beef (I used a lovely french beef that is very juicy and has the right price)
1 shallot (superfinely chopped )
1-2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
4 tablespoons fresh basil (chopped)
1/2 teaspoon fresh oregano (chopped)
1 tablespoon tomato puree

olive oil

Lets start!
You should start preparing the minced meat some hours before you actually want to cook it.So the flavors can develop and the Bifteki becomes more tasty.
Simply mix all the ingredients,season and shape little Biftekia.Any size and shape will be fine.
Rub each Bifteki with a little olive oil and place them in the fridge for some hours.

pan fry or barbecue them until they have your desired color.
