Easy zucchini soup

You are probably wondering why I am cooking so much soup lately.Well I love soup.
There is nothing better than a honest down to earth bowl of soup!
I lately re-discovered zucchini soup.My mother used to make the most slimy and garlic-y zucchini soup in the world.
I didn't eat zucchini soup for like 8 years.
Until I realized that it wasn't the zucchini's fault.
Enough blah blah, let's get down to business folks!

You need:
2 large zucchini
1 shallot
2 medium potatoes
200 ml cream (I used 12% fat cream suitable for cooking)
salt,pepper,olive oil,ground nut meg

Slice your shallot and one zucchini, then peel and dice your potatoes.Remember the smaller you cut your veg,the faster they will cook.
With a cheese grater grate the other zucchini into small sized juliennes.
Put the diced and sliced veg into a pot and cover with water.Season the water with salt and add a tablespoon of olive oil.

Bring to a boil and boil for 10 min on high temperature.
Drain the water and put the veg in a food processor.Add the cream and season well.Blend the veg until very creamy and put the puree back into the pot.Now add the grated zucchini and maybe some water if the soup is too thick.Quickly bring to a boil and serve with a nice slice of bread!

Essence ultra strong nail hardener review

Oh my gosh! I am soooooooo happy, that I finally found essence cosmetics here in my country.Essence cosmetics is a German Make up brand that is very popular for it's affordable prices and cruelty free products.
I am a big fan of cruelty free products, because animals should not be tortured so that I can wear my make up.

The ultra strong nail hardener comes in a little silver bottle that contains 9 ml product.
You cannot see into the bottle, which is kind of a bummer, cuz I wanna know when it is time to buy a new one.The ingredients are not listed on the bottle. You have to look up the ingredients on the essence web site or grab one of those essence booklets.
The ingredients are:

Another big bummer is,that the product contains formaldehyde, which can be a problem for people with allergies or sensitive skin.
The nail hardener itself is very liquid, which makes it super easy to apply it.But it will also make the bottle last longer.

The smell is very chemical, but nail hardener doesn't have to smell like roses.Does it?
But the performance of this product is just suuuuuuuuuper good.No expensive nail hardener in the world (and believe me I have tried tons of nail hardeners) will do as good as the essence ultra strong nail hardener.
It promises to strengthen, fix and protect brittle nails. It can also be used as a base coat for nail polish.

My nails are always weak and they chip very easy.Well cooking and washing up the dishes by hand doesn't help my nails at all *lol*
So 4 days ago I applied the ultra strong nail hardener as a base coat for my nailpolish.
I washed the dishes, cooked, cleaned and even did some gardening. And my nailpolish did not chip yet!!!
Usually after gardening I have to cut off all my nails, because they would be soo damaged and chippy.
Not this time!
My nails still look freshly painted!!!!!!

Even if you wear the nail hardener by itself,it is so glossy and shiny.
And it really strengthens the nails.
To my surprise the formaldehyde did not make the skin around the nails dry.

And for the price of 1,75 Euro it is a biiiiiig moneysaver .
So I am very happy, that I got my holy grail of nail hardeners back!

I have bought this product with my own money. This post is not sponsored by essence cosmetics in any way

Raspberry Coconut Cookies

I'm gonna take that cookie right noooooooow!
Sorry ^^ I Had to sing this song from Doc the guinea pig.

Those cookies are made with my basic cookie recipe. They are fun, fast and easy!
You need:
200 gr Butter (room temp)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
150 gr sugar
1 egg
325 gr all purpose flour
100 gr corn starch
50 gr coconut shavings
a pinch of salt

For the coconut crust:
200 gr coconut shavings
1 egg
4 tablespoons milk
100 gr icing sugar

For the jam-filling:

4-5 tablespoons raspberry jam
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon strawberry jam

The dough is the easiest part.Put all ingredients in a bowl and start kneading a dough. From the dough you make little balls in the size of a walnut.
Now beat one egg with 4 tablespoons milk and put the egg wash in a deep bowl.Put the coconut shavings in another deep bowl.
Now take your balls, drop 4-5 of them in the egg wash and by moving the bowl you will cover all the balls evenly.
After the egg wash put your dough balls in to the coconut shavings and cover them evenly.
Place on a baking tray lined with nonstick baking paper.
Sprinkle some icing sugar over the cookies,so it will later caramelize.

With your fingers push little holes into the dough balls and flatten them slightly.
Pre heat your oven to 180 degree celsius (medium high)

Let's prepare the jam filling.
In a small saucepan heat the jam with the other ingredients,so the jam gets more liquid and easier to work with.
Don't boil it though!
Fill your little dough ball with a teaspoon and make sure you don't fill them entirely.
Bake your cookies for 18-25 min 180 degree Celsius.

Mediterranean Potatoes

Geia sas! (This means hello in Greek)

Greece is all about flavors, herbs and rustic down to earth food.
This recipe is inspired by my garden, which smells soo nice in springtime.
You can literally smell the Rosemary !!!!
So it is essential for this recipe to have fresh fresh fresh herbs!!!

You need:
5 small potatoes with edible skin
a twig of :Rosemary,Oregano and Thyme
One clove garlic
The juice of 1/2 lemon
6-7 tablespoons of extra virgin Olive Oil. (Always buy the extra virgin one!)

Turn on that Sirtaki Music ( ) and wear your Greek Flag apron!
Put your potatoes into a large boiling pan, cover them with water and bring them to a boil.Add the lemon juice and season the water with salt.
Let your potatoes boil for 15-25 min (depending on size)
To check if the potatoes are done, stick a knife into the potato and lift the potato a bit.If the potato easily slips back into the water,it is done.If it is still hard on the inside,it won't slip off the knife that easy.
Once they are done, cut each potato into four wedges.
In a frying pan let the olive oil get warm and add the whole garlic and the herb-twigs.
Once the oil is hot,add the potatoes and fry them until they are golden brown.
During frying make sure you remove the herb-twigs once they start burning.
Season with sea salt and pepper.
Optional: You can also add some carrots to the boiling potatoes. It tastes great!
Done !

Easy Tomato Basil Soup

This is a really easy soup, that also beginners can cook.A very healthy way to use those very ripe tomatoes in the fridge.

You need
4 large,ripe tomatoes
5 cherry tomatoes
1 shallot
a small piece celery root
1/2 carrot
a few basil leaves

olive oil
chilli powder
Okay, wash your tomatoes well and cut them in 4 pieces each.Remove all the seeds and the tough greenish part of the tomato.Dice the shallot, the celery root and the carrots.

In a pot with a thick bottom ,heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil and slowly roast the veggies for 5 min.
Now add 200 ml water or chicken stock.
Let the veggies boil for 15 min and puree them in your food processor with a few fresh basil leafs.
Put the now creamy tomato soup back in the pot and season well.
Adding a half teaspoon of sugar to the soup does miracles.

Add one tablespoon of cream to every bowl of soup.

I threw in a few croutons!

Gothic DIY

There is nothing more beautiful than a choker necklace on a Goth Girl.......
But not every country has well stocked Goth shops.
Don't get frustrated.Being a Goth is all about Do it yourself.

You need:
A black collar cut off from a collar shirt (Just steal your husbands/fathers/brothers black shirt and cut off the collar)
black thread
needle for sewing
needles for pinning the fabric
a pendant
2 snap buttons

I assume you already have cut off the collar of the shirt.
Now trim off the edges so you have a straight piece of fabric to work with.
Fold over the bottom part of the collar and pin it with needles so you have a 1/2 inch seam.
Do the same with both ends, but make sure there is enough fabric left to fit around your neck.
Now sew your seams and once you are done remove the needles.
I sewed my seam with an invisible zig zag stitch.
Now take a white eyeliner or a piece of chalk and wrap the choker around your neck.
Check where the snap buttons should go and mark the spots.
Sew on the snap buttons and the pendant.
You can be creative with your choker:
Add rhinestones,flowers,lace,chains etc........

It took me 20 minutes to make this without a sewing machine.
